Early Childhood Teacher

A DREAM opportunity!
 

We are seeking an ECT who is willing to work closely with our director and educational leader to help guide our small team of 12 in their educational program and practice. This role will see you working on the floor in both our Over 3's and Under 3's classroom's, observing practice & program, providing feedback and support to our educational leaders and mentoring our educational leader.

The right candidate will work 18 hours per week, 6 hours per day on, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday's. With a view to include Friday in the near future if occupancy rises. We will need you to be accessible to us via phone or email on Monday's and Friday's for 2 hours, if required as per REG 130.

We are able to be flexible and work within school pick up/drop off times.
We are looking for someone to start ASAP.

 

About Us

We have been in operation for over 20 years and started as refuge for families who lost their homes in the Ash Wednesday fires.  We are community run and not for profit. Our Centre has two rooms and caters for up to 26 children per day. We are open from 7:30am – 5:30pm and close for two weeks over Christmas.  We've been under new management both in the ELC and Community Centre for 4 months, and have a committee who shares our vision for the future of the ELC.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • ACECQA approved Early Childhood Teaching Qualification

  • Current Working with Children Check

  • Current qualifications in First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma

  • Current Child Protection certificate

  • Sound Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Standards and EYLF
