Early Childhood Teacher

A DREAM opportunity!

About Us: We have been in operation for over 20 years and started as refuge for families who lost their homes in the Ash Wednesday fires.  We are community run and not for profit. Our Centre has two rooms and caters for up to 26 children per day. We pride ourselves on our multi-age setting as this allows siblings to be together and also allows the older children to take on leadership roles.

We are open from 7:30am – 5:30pm and close for two weeks over Christmas.  Our small team is like extended family, many of which have been working at the centre for many years. So if you’re looking for a change of pace, your ultimate forever job, your first ECT role, or perhaps returning to the industry from maternity leave, then this is the opportunity for you!

Who we need:

  • Permanent part time ECT to join our small team

  • Someone who is passionate about putting children first

  • Someone who is all about having fun and being silly with children

  • Someone who welcomes the challenges a multi-age setting can bring.

  • Someone laid back, who knows when to step up and take charge.

  • Someone whose philosophy includes fostering children’s sense of agency and loves creating nature based play spaces.

Opportunity:
The right candidate will work 14 hours per week, with a view to increase hours slightly as we grow. These hours will include a non-negotiable minimum 6-hour day on a Tuesday and remaining hours on a Thursday or Friday. We are able to be flexible and work within school times. We are looking for someone to start ASAP.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • ACECQA approved Early Childhood Teaching Qualification

  • Current Working with Children Check

  • Current qualifications in First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma

  • Current Child Protection certificate

  • Proof of COVID vaccinations (incl. booster)

  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Standards

Additional Requirements:
Please read our position decription HERE, and then forward your cover letter and resume outlining why you feel you’d be the best fit for our small team!
